Hello Clay County! If you came here looking for the Clay County Beacon, you’re in the right place. The Beacon was started in 2018 to report news that local media outlets ignored.
From there, it grew to include a website, podcast, and live streams. Today, I am happy to announce that the website will no longer produce new stories and content.
Why is this happy news? Because the Beacon will live on in a new publication, Clay News & Views. I have teamed up with two long-time and esteemed journalists, Peter Swanson and Susan Armstrong, for this new venture.
Clay News & Views will continue the mission of the Beacon: Tell the truth. It will also continue the tradition of the Beacon by being free and independent of any advertising revenue, enabling Clay News & Views to tell the truth without pulling punches.
Lastly, the Clay County Beacon podcast will live on as “The Beacon, a Clay News & Views Podcast.” Season three will premiere soon, featuring the same analysis, stories, and interviews the podcast is known for.
